World leading innovation network partners with offshore wind accelerator

Norwegian Offshore Wind has partnered up with Wazoku to help startups and scalups grow and solve key challenges in the offshore wind industry.

Wazoku is a world leading Open Innovation network. They are working with companies like HSBC, Elkem, ENEL and Nissan. 

-We are very excited to partner with Norwegian Offshore Wind to help its expansive network of members and startups collaborate, says Schønning Eysturoy, Director of Wazoku. 

The NOW Accelerator is Norway´s first offshore wind accelerator and will kick off December 14 with a digital event. The program connects great ideas with the industry, mentors, partners and investors within the offshore wind industry. Partners of the program are Blåvinge consortium (Fred Olsen Seawind, Hafslund Eco, Ørsted), Equinor, Deep Wind Offshore, EDF Renewables, Corio Generation and Å Energi, Seagust and Vattenfall.

The collaboration with Wazoku was confirmed this week in London. 

- This partnership establishes Norway as the premiere global location for floating offshore wind innovation, says Narve Hansen, Accelerator Manager in Norwegian Offshore Wind. 

The two-year program offers continuous incubation activities and accelerator initiatives that focus on pressing industry topics. It promises a comprehensive platform for participants to develop, validate, and scale their solutions. The industry partners will introduce challenges they need solved. 

The NOW Accelerator program is designed specifically to foster innovation in wind energy, focusing on offshore wind technologies. The main goal is to facilitate potential test pilot cases for the companies to match the needs and solve the big problems in the market. 

-We are selecting the top companies from 14 international countries through an open application process together with our partners. The application process starts 14th of December with an introduction of the partners, says Hansen 

The program is a combination of activities using a digital arena and physical events and workshops orchestrated together with our partners. 

-Participants  in this program benefit from access to industry experts globally, investor network,  corporate partners, and cutting-edge resources. The program includes mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities, tailored to the unique needs of companies innovating in green energy, says Hansen.
